Ice Cream Attendant

General Description:

The ice cream attendant’s role is to ensure that each and every customer is served in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. This includes greeting customers, processing customer orders through the POS system, and fulfilling customer orders including making ice cream with liquid nitrogen, scooping ice cream, and serving beverages. This person will process customer transactions, resolve customer issues, and complete necessary cleaning tasks.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greets all customers in a friendly and welcoming manner and contributes to a family friendly environment
  • Explains to customers the advantages of using liquid nitrogen to make ice cream
  • Operates POS system and handles cash, credit/debit cards correctly to process orders
  • Prepares and serves ice cream orders using mixers and liquid nitrogen
  • Addresses customer issues/complaints if they arise, takes necessary steps to correct them and informs management
  • Re-stocks cups, napkins and other supplies and equipment as necessary
  • Wipes counters, tables and serving surfaces throughout the shift
  • Checks cleanliness of bathroom
  • Strong team player by supporting other staff and management as needed
  • Performs other related duties as requested

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous customer service and food service experience preferred
  • Minimum Food Safe Level 1 is an asset
  • Able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs
  • Able to stand on feet for long periods
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings and weekends

 

This is a seasonal (April to August) part-time position starting at $12.65/hour + tips, with a possibility for extension based on management’s discretion.

Kitchen Assistant

General Description:

The kitchen assistant’s primarily role is to prepare ice cream base made from scratch, bake cookies, churn ice cream and prepare other food products as necessary. This includes following recipes, by measuring out ingredients and ensuring ice cream bases are heated to the appropriate temperature. This person will follow all Food Safe standards and must be able to work independently.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares ice cream base by following recipes accurately, understanding volumetric measurements
  • Ensures quality control of all food products
  • Measures and bakes cookies
  • Churns ice cream and store appropriately
  • Follows Food Safe standards to reduce cross contamination
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Receives and verifies correct inventory from suppliers, as necessary
  • Performs other related duties as requested

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen experience required
  • Minimum Food Safe Level 1 required or willingness to acquire before start date
  • Able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs
  • Able to stand on feet for long periods
  • Flexible schedule and able to work early mornings and weekends

 

This is a part-time position (15-20 hours/week) starting at $14.00/hour.
